Hummingbird Children's Speech and Language Therapy Services, founded in 2022, is dedicated to enhancing speech and language support in Bradford's mainstream primary schools. With a total communication approach, we empower educators and nurture every young voice, buzzing with excitement, chirping with joy, and humming with success.
Our Founding Story
Hummingbird was born from a vision to address the growing complexities of speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) in Bradford's primary schools. After a decade of NHS experience, our founder, Caroline Mpiana, recognized the need for more flexible, tailored support for schools. Driven by the desire to provide comprehensive training, coaching, and direct interventions, Caroline established Hummingbird to bridge the gap between the increasing demands and available resources. Our journey began with a commitment to empower educators and has since flourished into a service that transforms classrooms and changes young lives.

Meet our Founder
Caroline Mpiana, BSc (Hons) Speech and Language Pathology Founder and Lead Speech and Language Therapist.
With over a decade of NHS experience, Caroline brings a wealth of knowledge to Hummingbird. Her expertise spans from early language development to complex needs such as Developmental Language Disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Caroline's passion for empowering educators and children alike drives Hummingbird's innovative approach to Speech and Language Therapy in schools.
